Take your horses into Yellowstone National Park in September!
Many people ask me, "Can I take my horses into Yellowstone?" Starting this year we are helping people to do that. The park system has a very high standard for horse use in Yellowstone and we want to help people ride and camp in the Park safely, efficiently, and enjoyably. This requires some training of both people and horses. We have a three tiered system to assure people adequate skillsets to ride camp and keep horses in the park safely.
1.) First we ask you to take the two day packing class to learn the basics of packing and stock retention in the backcountry. spring_packing_seminar.pdf
2.) Next we ask you to go with us and use our horses for a simple overnight trip to see trained horses kept overnight, and practice the things you've learned in the two day course.
3.) Finaly bring your horses and gear and I will go with you as guide and helper to help you use your stock overnight in the backcountry of Yellowstone National Park.
