Northwest Corner Family Trip

Join us for a three-day, family-oriented backcountry trip into Fan Creek—an outdoor playground perfect for hiking, creekside fun, horseback time, and early-morning trout fishing. After full days outside, we’ll settle in around the campfire for stories beneath the stars, accompanied by the wild soundtrack of nature. The Fan Creek region is known for hosting one of the few predominantly black wolf packs in Yellowstone National Park, adding an unforgettable element of wilderness magic to our nights.

Speciment Creek/High Lake

Enjoy Yellowstone’s remote Northwest Corner on this four-day backcountry adventure. We’ll begin at the Specimen Creek Trailhead and ride six miles to a scenic camp along the North Fork of Specimen Creek, where we’ll stay for three nights. One day includes a ride to High Lake, a beautiful alpine lake known for its healthy population of cutthroat trout that support Yellowstone’s native fish restoration efforts, while another day is set aside for hiking or relaxing in camp. On our final day, we’ll pack up and return to civilization, leaving with lasting memories of this quiet and wild landscape.

Sportsman's Lake Adventure

Ride with us into the high country to Sportsman’s Lake, a stunning alpine lake at the base of Electric Peak, during Yellowstone’s less-traveled late summer season when wildlife is active and the scenery is breathtaking. We’ll begin at the Specimen Creek Trailhead and ride six miles to a scenic camp on the North Fork of Specimen Creek, then continue seven miles to Sportsman’s Lake, where we’ll spend three nights fishing, hiking, swimming, and exploring. The lake is home to healthy cutthroat trout up to 16 inches, and nearby a charming ranger cabin and corrals add to the adventure. Along the way, you may spot moose grazing with our horses, elk crossing the creek, or wolves trotting down the trail—so don’t forget your camera!

Upper Gallatin River Ride

Join us for a four-day, three-night adventure along the Upper Gallatin River, just below its headwaters at Gallatin Lake. We’ll ride to a scenic riverside camp on the first day, then spend the following days hiking, riding, fishing, and exploring. This beautiful part of Yellowstone offers opportunities to catch wild trout, spot wildlife near Big Horn Pass, and enjoy vibrant wildflowers across the meadows and hillsides. Slough Creek I

Slough Creek is one of Yellowstone’s premier fishing spots, known for big fish, slow waters, and breathtaking scenery. We ride in and set up a single camp, giving you plenty of time to focus on fishing. By this time of year, grasshoppers are abundant, making for exciting sight fishing with large, striking flies—a true fly fisherman’s dream. Evening hatches are especially spectacular, so after dinner, you’re welcome to head back down to the creek and fish until dark—we’ll leave the lantern on for you!

Fishing Cache Creek

On this trip, we’ll ride 10 miles to our riverside camp on Cache Creek, our home for the next three nights. Fishing begins as soon as we arrive, with abundant vibrant cutthroat trout in the creek’s pockets and pools. Those who prefer a break from fishing can explore Cache Creek on horseback, capturing alpine photography along the Thunderer, spotting wildlife such as buffalo, wolves, or bears, or stopping at a remote ranger cabin for a unique lunch. Evenings are spent around the campfire enjoying good food, stories, and relaxation. On the final day, we’ll fish near camp while guides pack up before riding back toward civilization, ending a memorable Yellowstone backcountry adventure.

Lamar Over the Top

Due to popular demand, we’re offering a second trip into Yellowstone’s wild Lamar region—a progressive horseback journey that goes deeper into the backcountry than most outfitters. This adventure explores Pelican Valley and the upper Lamar River Valley, where wildlife is abundant and interactions between wolves, bears, and bison are common. While the Lamar River Valley is famous for viewing wildlife from roadside, our trip offers a more intimate experience: buffalo may stroll along the trail near camp, bears forage on the hillsides, and wolves trot through the valley in search of prey. Starting at Pelican Creek Trailhead near Yellowstone Lake, this trip combines world-class fishing with breathtaking scenery and unparalleled wildlife encounters—a true backcountry paradise for adventurous anglers.

The Lamar River Valley is one of Yellowstone’s premier fishing destinations, with deep pools and large, active fish. We’ll ride up the canyon, away from the crowds, to access pristine backcountry waters. Bring your camera—wolves, bears, bison, and elk are often seen in the area. Along the way, we’ll share stories of the Nez Perce Indians, who traveled through this region while fleeing the army in 1877, combining history, wildlife, and world-class fishing in one unforgettable experience.
